Abram celebrated his 13th birthday today, with his mom, Erika, as they joined us for their first ever ice fishing trip.

The pickerel in North-South Lake were on a feeding frenzy, as they caught them on tip-ups and jigging rods.

We taught them how to use our Humminbird Helix 7 fish finder paired with the Aqua-Vu underwater camera. They were able to observe a pickerel slam their jig tipped with a minnow! It was thrilling for them to see this action unfold with the camera.

Flags were flying, and pickerel were coming up through the hard water holes all day long! The trip ended on a high note as well, with Abram doubling up on the tip-ups and Erika catching one jigging, with all of this unfolding simultaneously!

For Abram, only being 13, he has a wealth of fishing knowledge well beyond his years. He’s an avid freshwater and saltwater angler. For his first time ice fishing, he was more of a seasoned veteran than a rookie. What awesome parents he has gifting him a guided fishing trip for his birthday!
